CLOSED: Could this be pyrrhalta viburni - fam. Chrysomelidae ?

Gent, Belgium(Zone 8a)

Hi,
I've compared my beetle with the one entered in BF and thought it looks very alike, but would love a confirmation if possible.
I'm not sure on what type of leaf I had found it, should have noted that but forgot!
I found it in the local Nature Reserve Gent, Belgium on 31 May 2009
Thanks! :)

It is difficult to be certain. Compare carefully with the image at http://tinyurl.com/yd2793f

Thanks Suunto! Yes, it is hard to be certain because I don't remember the plant it was on, but I do know that in the place I found it, there are Viburnums growing.

To me after comparing it with the pic. of the link it does look like the same beetle..

I was wrong! Proves how careful one must be not to jump to conclusions like I tend to do!
I asked to a local expert and it seems to be a Galerucella sp., possibly lineola but that is not certain so I better keep with Galerucella sp.
It seems that with Pyrrhalta the head is nearly as broad as the neck shield.

That's what I meant by checking carefully - although they appeared quite similar overall, the shape of the pronotum and the 'shoulders' of the elytra appeared to differ somewhat between the two specimens. My apologies for neglecting to mention this.

No need for apologies Suunto! I should have compared MORE carefully.
I confess that I had been doubting a little about the head and the shape of the pronotum, but then thought it could have been the difference between the sexes...
