Have you guys noticed all those aroids in the movie, Pirates of the Carribean- Dead Mans Chest?
I was watching it with the kids today and I said.. "OMG, Look at all those Aroids" My oldest son, who is 14, said, "Gosh Mom, I can't believe you are watching an ACTION scene and all you are seeing are the plants!"
C'mon now.. I just can't help it. : )
Aroids and Pirates
LOL Daisy....a true DGer at heart...grin
Plants in the movies, isn't that the point of watching movies????
yes! I never thought of that before
I notice them, too. It's my own version of find waldo, but it's whose that plant instead :).
or what is that I want one...LOL
I was certainly drooling and.... I was looking at the plants instead of Johnny Depp. Now THAT my friends, is indicative of a true addiction..
maybe that's my probably I always get distracted by his brown eyes (yes I know there contacts but I'm a sucker for brown eyed men, worse than plants)
Gosh!, (he said, batting his brown eyes), you're making me blush....
(and Krowten does not use contacts to change his eye color!)
Please do not tarry over the taro.
Kea is her photogenic self as usual....grin
beautiful yard as always Dave, and yep there's brown eyes I'd be suckered over...probably con me out of what ever I was eating
Dave! no fair....and a 'brunette' one even....double trouble!!!! I guess I could give them some carrots
Are those you're neighbors?
I like Arabians, spirited, wilder, harder to tame sometimes and usually darn big horses too...Mustangs are gorgeous but we don't have too many wild ones any more, and they are a little TOO unpredictable at times
I miss my horse now...thanks
she kinda looks like my old cat Cheeze-It (guess what he liked) but the goofy cat would get lost outside if the grasses was taller than him and he'd whine until you got close enough he could see you!
alright it's been a long day...hope to talk again tomorrow...night all!
Wow. Pasture looks different in Hawaii than it does here. What kind of grass is that that cinder is munching on? I was wondering if it was cane, lol. That would sure fatten an animule up :). Oops, guess I was studying the background of the film again, lol.
Teach Kea to say Arg instead of arf, then give him an eyepatch, and you'll be on your way to the next swashbuckling film.
Yes, Interesting pasture. That particular grass looks yummy, or at least my horses would think so.
Dave, I have an eyepatch for Kea.. and changing the arf to arg, he can master that!! ; )
Here's a guy who sings pirate songs:

LOL! Daisy and Mom!
I got p.selloum seeds today, so here's hoping ladies
excellent choice Dave!
The cane was Sugarcane. I had to give Cinder some so she would stay still for a picture.
Hi Trina!
Trina, Fingers are crossed for success with the p.selloum. I got faith in you Girl.
See Dave knows the way to any lady's heart...bribe her with plants! LOL Just teasing Dave
Hi Dave!
Well if I can work my magic with these we should all be able to get these...package says germination 86% and I got 15 seeds...so I should be able to get at least 3 growing right?
With 15 seeds at 86% germination, you should be getting about 13 plants.
Philodendron selloum is now known as Philodendron bipinnatifidum, Tree Philodendron.
cool I got what I wanted by accident without even knowing it...yeah...thanks Dave, what would I do without you?
If there are 13, dont forget me!!
Trina, I thought you already had this plant and your catty used it for litterbox. I love to start plants from seeds anyway, so I understand. If it's as easy as Monstera seeds, you'll do just fine with it. :) The seeds are so small and cute. But they grow trina, they grow, lol.
yeah the one kitty 'used' is still just sitting there...and who says I can't have more than one? LOL
Daisy of course I was counting you too!
Aw Thanks : ) Did you get the seeds in a trade or somewhere else?
Geesh, I miss so much not being able to check in during the day!!
I'll have to look for all those aroids when I pull out the DVD of Pirates.
I'm more apt to go to the museums/parks and notice the plantings.
While visiting one of the local zoos (not sure if it was D.C. or Salisbury, MD.) a few years ago, I was impressed by the bamboo plants. Very thick, very sturdy, very tall. Better than Gilligan's Island. Then I noticed something else. The bamboo was not staying where it had been planted. It had sent runners underneath the pavement--under concrete walkways--to shoot up stalks several yards away from where it had been placed!
Bamboo is a grass! Who thinks they can actually control it once it is planted outdoors? That stuff will GET AWAY from you in a heartbeat ..... but I digress .... yeah, gotta watch Johnny Depp again ....
LOL TJ! Daisy the selloum were seeds I bought...going to plant them up tomorrow and see what happens...okay gotta go for the night
and yeah brunette...brown eyes....and throw in a deep voice...and I'm done for! I'm not paying attention to nothing else! Drool! But Johnny Depp will work too...LOL
