Sun is comming !!!!!

I'm with you on this JoAnn. I hate getting up in the dark. Starting to go the other way towards spring is a very good thing.

Sure lifts my mood but when I think of the 4 months ahead,I droop.

Can't wait.

Used to hate saying solstice when I had a list as a kid.

DH says the sun has already started to set a minute later since yesterday. I'll ask him for more details on this.

Day by day it will get here. Today is a nice day, next few are going to be much colder. That's when it rally gets to me. Well at least we can cross off another day, closer by a bit.

Its January storms and Feb freezing and March ice storms.
Hope we have another March like last year.

That's a lot for such a subtle difference in latitude.

Not the latitude, but the slight diff in longitude. The night falls from east to west.

Yeah, but I thought (in the winter) the farther north you go, the sun sets earlier and the farther south, later.

What time is your sunrise? Maybe you make up for it there.

I looked at a website for NYC and sunrise was 6:36 today.

Well, assuming it's correct, I think it's that you are more east. But two minutes seems like a lot to me.

Just checked a website and it did verify it. based on our zips, your lat is -73.749712. Mine is -74.01126. Think that's the reason.

Hmmm, that's interesting. Wish I could wrap my head around it.

Makes sense, in my case I'm more east than Victor, I've got 7:10am, ngam is even more East than I am at 7:05am.

Shortwave radio program, tells you what is/ isn't in sunlight, shortwave radio signals better at night,( without the solar rays interference.)

Google Earth 5.1 shows you the shadow also, if the option for 'sun' is selected, (though not as detailed).

So if I don't have a shortwave radio, I gotta go with the Google Earth option...

- It would be the most economical option as it's free, otherwise you'd have to pay for a program designed for Shortwave Radio. ☺

I miss the sun too....it's rain or clouds and when it is out it's not very long. Look this is todays...barely 8 hours of daylight. I hate it!! (I don't use the 'H' word often)
