Thanks for all your kind wishes. I did have a wonderful day - in fact I had a wonderful week. I went to lunch and dinner and breakfast with many friends through the week and this morning I was lucky enough to have breakfast with my granddaughter, DD and DH. I had crabcakes benedict. Yum.

I love the rain, just wish there were more of it!

Sounds like a perfect day. And I agree, more rain. I thought this system was suppose to be stronger.
Promises!

Missed it by 17 minutes - glad you had a wonderful day!! I love crabcakes too. We got lots of steady rain here. Pool is getting over-filled.

More here this morning---it rained most of the night and we had some gusty winds, too.

Thanks soils...

Well, I'm glad that there is snow in the mountains then. Most of the rain missed us but I sure won't have to use the sprinklers for awhile which always makes me happy. I think that the plants like the rain lots more than they love the sprinklers.

Sorry I missed your birthday doss, but I hope these yummy cookies make up for it. :-)
Glad you had an enjoyable day.

I agree Doss. I still have iceland poppies and violas to plant. I hurt my back and couldn't garden, then it
got way to cold. This week they have to get in the ground. The next storms are suppose to hit the N. Bay.

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

Happy Birthday, Doss. A rainy birthday is a very good day and if you didn't get enough rain, it looks as though there will soon be more on the way.

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

Socal, the cookies are lovely and the santa plate is truly awesome.
It was way too cold to plant claudcat. How do iceland poppies do for you? I have't had very good luck with them. I love violas.
And thanks for the wishes wcgypsy. I hope that we get some of the rain that is destined for the Northbay.

Cupertino, CA(Zone 9a)

Doss, I know it's too cold but, they are just sitting in their 6pack cells. I've had great luck with Iceland Poppies.
They are a fav of mine. I bought them at the perfect time then my back went out. I love violas too and
the combo is sooo pretty. I hope I can keep these plants alive in their cells. :(

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

Sorry about your back claudcat. The poppies and violas will be beautiful combo. I sure hope that they like staying in their cells too.

Cupertino, CA(Zone 9a)

Doss, I just called Summer Winds and they said it's not to cold to plant them. They both like the cold and we didn't
a HARD freeze so, they should do fine. Wish me luck!!!!!!

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

Good luck! I know that the poppies really like the cold weather but wasn't aware that violas did too. Hope that they both do well. Then you can post a photo so we can all see them.

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Iceland Poppies are one of my favorites...until the rain beats the blooms to a pulp ! They look so pitiful when they're laying there all flattened down by the rain. Poor things :( !

Cupertino, CA(Zone 9a)

That's for sure :(

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Doss,
I'm late in wishing you a very Happy Birthday. Sounds like it was a good one. Sending you a photo, that I hope we'll both see more of this year.
