I was surprised by a wonderful gift in the mail yesterday! A wonderful friend "on the other side of the pond" sent me a couple of very SPECIAL lily Bulbs! I got two Chris North lilies that I have never seen for sale anywhere! My friend got them at an auction held by the RHS.
I got Theseus and Odysseus!

It is already a GREAT Christmas!
A Very Special Christmas Gift!
That IS a great gift.
How wonderful! Looking forward to summer pics!
Your friend is generous indeed. A wonderful gift!
What a treat!
Wonderful! Seems I have heard of Theseus before. I think on one of the Scandinavian gardener's websites. Not for sale though.
Those are really wonderful. What a nice gift.
No way! You're one lucky duck!
Way to go Ramona!! You are well liked. :)
Yes, I have been blessed with a very special relationship and friend.
I sure wish more North Lilies were in commercial cultivation. I'd love to see Buggycrazy start producing them!
I have a friend in Minnesota who is trying to cultivate some..
I looked at Theseus on the web site and it is stunning. I noticed that they are seeking an image of Odysseus, and I'll bet we would all love to see it when it blooms.
Merry Christmas - it was a lovely gift.
All the North lilies are very nice, but I think my favorites are Bronwen and Peggy, with Rosemary and Marie second.
Trust me, if I ever get my hands on Bronwen, you will hear me screaming where you are! :)
'Bronwen' is my favorite, by far. Though they are all very, very special lilies. I especially like that he named so many after family members.
Those are both beautiful, and you deserve such a rare and wonderful gift.
Merry Christmas Ramona!!
I'm so happy for you, Ramona. It's grand to have a friend like yours, I'm sure.
Merry Christmas!
Ramona - will you pot them up for winter and, if so, where do you keep them (temperature, etc.)? I just received an order that is too big to plant and thought I could pot them up so I'd like to know how you do it or if you just keep them refrigerated and at what temperature if that's what you do. Thanks so much.
I have mine in the refrierator. In fairly dry peat moss That way I can check them from time to time. They actually can be frozen but you have to have precisely controlled conditions. I don't have that.
Brilliant! The perfect present :)
Yes, perfect. I feel very blessed this season
Thank you, Ramona. I appreciate your help, as always.
I had not realized until now, when I was perusing the RHS Lily Yearbook online, that Theseus is a triploid.
I have read that Rosemary is also a triploid. That explain why i have never got seeds on it.
What a special gift, I could not find Odysseus & Theseus reminds me of a Christmas tree, such long branches, so bright, I love it, They have the Lily Garden listed as a source, but I did not find either of the 2 you got on their, We all know that old saying "What comes around goes around" You deserve a special gift, Big time;)Anita
