RainGazer missing - round robin question

Mansfield, TX(Zone 8a)

Is there a good website to go to for information on candlemaking. I sure wish I could duplicate my favorite candle because it is a little pricey. I wouldn't dare try to use milk cartons - no telling what kind of damage I could cause. Hubby says I'm just an accident waiting to happen.

I made an ice candle once, but I didn't have the nerve to use a milk carton, so I used one of my round molds . . . turned out real nice.

I would start at www.candlesandsupplies.com . . . they have some how-to's . . . you can Google instructions, too.

I have faith you could make your favorite candle, Sharon. Go to the Lonestar website and look at the scents. There are so many it is unreal. You can make that candle any color you want. I haven't bought wax from them lately because I bulk up on it. It was pricey when I bought my last order because it is a pertroleum product They might have dropped the price a little more since then. I think you can also get slabs of wax at your Hobby Lobby if you don't want to make too many or you want to try it before you buy boxes of it. I don't know if they sell scents there though. You can also color them with dye blocks or liquid dye. I use the liquid dye and put drops in until I think I have the color that I want.

Oh wow - now you guys have me fired up to try this. I'll try to get to Hobby Lobby tomorrow to see what they have. Funny - my daughter came by tonight and asked how much the candles were because she wants some for Christmas gifts. Might be a fun project for us.

Let us know how it turns out. I think you will find it a fun project :)
