I just dont trade. Its diffacult to dig with arthritis so I only dig for myself.
My gardens are only 2 years old and there is nothing to divide

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Enjoyed viewing your album. I'll look forward to next year's collection. :)

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Thanks Moby
I cant believe the blooms wont be for 6 months.
Anticipation is what keeps me going.I am also starting to design my coleus containers for 2010,

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

That sounds like a good plan. What gets me through this time of year is knowing that in 15 days the daylight starts getting longer. :)

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Holeycow I started a thread about it and forgot.
We are putting up the ntree today so I am glad to have that to think about.2 weeks I can deal with that.

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Excellent slide show. What is the daisy type of flower? Have yellow petals with deeper coloration towards the center and a large round type going up from the center of the flower.
Can you understand me. I don't think I can!!

Cone flower? aka Ecenacia?

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Looks like one of the Big Sky series echinacea, maybe Summer Sky or Sundown http://www.daytonnursery.com/encyclopedia/perennials/echinacea.htm

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Nope, its not an echinacea as I have most of them.

Dear ge,

Love your lilies and thank you for the beautiful show.

And Mar. Yes! 15 days to longer days. I can't complain. We got our first sticky snow this week (a good month late) and it was less than two inches.

The annual lilies I started last January that failed to bloom before frost are starting to stick up their littles heads in the basement under the shop lights. Not really good, but very cheery.

2-3" of snow here today and more on the way. I sure enjoyed getting to watch your lily show . I put it on my computer at work and just let it run in the background as I do paper work. You have some beauties!

Thanks,
Susan

Thanks everyone.
Its so bleek here,I am really glad I took pictures with these days in mind.
Glad to share with everyone.
I have learned a lot from this forum.
I have expanded my lily possibilities because of other lily fan's gardens and will put in more asiatics with the DL's

Thanks for sharing more of your lovely garden photos. One of my favorite things about DG is being able to visit other people's gardens. I love your yellow verbascum and the Japanese iris. I posted part one of my daylily photos on the daylily forum today.

Your gardens are wonderful Susan
I have tried to get a thread of "long views of peoples gardens" but it breaks down in the middle and ends up a talk about cold drinks or puppies.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Thanks ge. I like to see long long views of gardens too, but find them hard to get in a small yard like mine without showing a lot of garbage cans, cars, ect. Here is a shot of most of my back garden taken mid July. Later in the Fall, the large tree fell and smashed a lot of the far back corner. I put in 2 new raised beds and still need to redo some paths. Things are always changing.

ge, Do you know the name of the coreopsis in front of the purple sedum. At least I think it's a coreopsis. It's apricot/yellow. Sure is pretty.

Susan

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

All these plants are new this year.
I wanted it because I needed something to go with Royal Purple sedum.
I was neutral at first when a few flowers opened but by August it was magnificent and probably my fav of all the coriopses I bought.
Its Sienna sunset.
It bloomed in a beautiful shape and lasted for months.
Fingers crossed it comes back better than ever.I'm going to have to move some plants next year.

I think I need both for my orange and purple bed. The coreopsis is really pretty. Hope it makes it through the winter.

Susan

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

It has such a neutral color it goes great with any complimentary color, yet it's form is like a pillow ,so nice and semi compact.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

I want the Jo Ann flower.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

he he he
I just had to throw that one in.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I ordered these border lilies to go with the perennials in the collage

That's going to be beautiful. Isn't it fun to be able to spend time in the winter dreaming and looking at photos of flowers?

Jo,
Very nice, but may I ask why you just got into gardening? Work would be my guess but I have been known to be wrong just ask my DH:)
Oh how I wish my beds had room again.. :)Anita

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Im was a professional studio artist and lived in a smaller house on a very small lot.
I have loved to plant things ,so as my business took up a lot of time,I didnt really need big gardens to manage.
My DD and I had always talked about living together.
When it became too diffacult to manage my house(I had given up my business 1996) we sold our houses and bought a big one in the suburbs 3 years ago. She and SIL and 2 GK's (both nearly out of the house) all live in the big house. I live on one end and do the gardening as my contribution to the general welfare.
After all the moveing and settling.I was left to do nothing except paint from time to time and obcess about trivial matters.
I needed a BIG project so I began to plan gardens. It was small at first then space greed took over . I had been on Daves for a year and that expanded my garden visions tremendously. It was like being given permission to indulge a hobby.
Here I am designing and planting in 10 times the space I had ever dreamed of.
Sorry this is so long.

Corning, NY(Zone 5a)

oh don't be sorry, thank you for sharing, just don't go to big to fast or you will be out of room in no time flat:)Anita
