Could this be an insect other than a bee?

This is a bumble bee (Bombus sp.); possibly the common eastern bumble bee, Bombus impatiens - see http://tinyurl.com/yk6gl2x for an image. There are some robber flies (Diptera: Asilidae) that are good bumble bee mimics - see http://tinyurl.com/ygyldb3 for an example.

OK I see the wings are longer on the robber fly and the color is a bit different. thanks for your expert help. :)
