Oh gosh I almost forgot...Christmas Vacation.
What are your favorite Christmas shows and movies?
Thanks irisMA.I have a 74 year old brain and getting less and less accurate every year.
Thanks, for the correction it was Chrismas Memory.moonshine et al.
Victor I picked up a dancing toy from HD.. has all the misfit toys on it.. the first words out of my mouth was "who is going to want a charlie in the box?".. as usual Randy just shook his head and didn't say a word
I once won a prize for knowing the name of the King of the Island of Misfit toys. Do you remember it?
no
The flying lion? Forgot.
Funny, Allison!
king moon racer!!
Grinch
Santa Claus is coming to town.
Rudolf
Son LOVES Nightmare before Christmas.
Can't stand the Grinch movie with Jim Carrey.
Takes some getting used to, I didn't like it the first time I saw it.
Saw it three or four times now. Still don't like it.
hmmmm
Forgot one of my faves - march of the Wooden Soldiers (or Babes in Toyland). Not sure why it's a considered a holiday movie, but I love it. Used to be shown on T-day every year.
To this day, whenever I realize a solution to something that I should have known earlier, I'll say, 'The wooden soldiers!' Said it at work many times and had to explain since many of my colleagues were foreign born.
Oh yeah, March of the Wooden Soldiers...love it...those boogey men freaked me out when I was a kid.
Wonderful Life, of course. A Chipmunk Christmas. Not really a Christmas movie, but I love Michael. Angels, Christmas, just kind of go together for me.
And definitely not a Christmas movie, but we just watched In The Electric Mist. I've always loved the James Lee Burke, Dave Robicheaux books, and Tommie Lee Jones makes a perfect Dave. Won't say how good I thought the movie was, as this is about Christmas movies, so I won't go off on a tangent.

Yes - I was scared of the bogey men too! And I felt so bad when Ollie got shot with all those darts at the end.
I've never seen Grinch with Jim Carey, not sure I want to.
You don't.
I did like Jim Carey's A Christmas Carole (out now) but didn't like his Grinch. To me the Grinch is a favorite Seuss story & the Boris Karloff cartoon is my favorite Christmas special. An unusual one that I really like is Olive the other Reindeer.
For movies, A Wonderful Life, still leaves me choked up. Miracle on 34th is great too.
Loved Miracle on 34th. St!! The remake was real good too!!
"Love Actually" - it's a really sweet British Christmas movie with plenty of stars like Hugh Grant, Colin Frith, Kiera Knightly, Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Mr. Bean, etc. It's a bunch of different little plots all interwoven but it has a happy ending. Note - not PG. But if you like British humor, you might really like it.
Never heard of it. Have to look for it.
Trivia question - the guy who sings the songs in the Grinch is famous for something else - what? (No google cheating!)
Tony the Tiger. Can't remember his name off the top of my head. And the animator did all the cartoons on Saturday am back in the day, too.
Do I get a prize? Thor Henderson, or Fred Gunderveldt or something/
Correct. Grrrrrrrreat! The guy who wrote the Grinch songs was the guy who played the teacher in the Fame tv show way back when.
Never watched the show.
I forgot, until I just watched it again.....'The Christmas Shoes" with Rob Lowe
I never watched the 'Fame" tv show, saw the movie.
We just watched Twas the Night... and Frosty's Winter Wonderland. That's the one where the kids convince Frosty he needs a wife. Kids can be so cruel.
