Heart vs Head

I'll try to get a photo of the one I named the Giraff geraf gerraf How DO you spell that?? Anyway, one of the roos is so tall and long legged and lean that I wonder if he could be used for racing. Not that I've ever heard about chicken races.

Thanks.

That's funny about how they race in England, the crowd must stay silent. One rule with our crab races is that you may not point. You hand will be duct-taped to your chair if you do.

What do the crabs do if you point?

Well...When I got to the part about confessing that I didn't...I got rather embarassed about public discussion to begin with, lol...

ROFLMAO!!!!

I think they just needed more odd rules for fun. I know the punishment because I, umm, pointed. (edit, masking tape, not duct)

How it's done, with much fanfare and play, is two circles are drawn on the floor(we have scruffy floors here and it's OK) with chalk, one about four feet across, and an outer circle about six feet in diameter.

Hermit crabs:

It costs two bucks to have your name written on a bit of masking tape that's stuck to the crab's shell. Then the bucket with the chosen crabs is gently turned upside down in the circle. After more tooting and fanfare, the bucket is picked up, and the crabs crawl away. First one outside the outer circle wins. And there are second, third and fourth.

It's quite silly, and a lot of fun.

I like the chicken races. Giving me ideas.

lol....when we lived on the east coast as kids we were always playing with fiddler crabs. Never tried races that I recall, but we sure chased and dug for them.

edited to add.... I can see the potential and difficulties in upending a bucketful of chickens...while it sounds fun, I think a larger circle is called for...

squawk!

The chicken races are run a bit differently, they look like fun.

But there's another chicken game. A piece of plywood is divided into one foot squares, each square goes for a dollar. Once all squares are sold, out comes the well fed chicken to march around on the ply until she poops, and a winner of the pot is declared. Funny to see a group of men hollering at a hen to poop!

lolol....you win!
