Any chance of an id without an open flower?

Flora, IN(Zone 5a)

I was in Florida last week and ran across this vine.
It was growing in a rather inhospitable area and I took a picture.
When I went to look at some dry seed pods the seeds were unmistakably morning glory or of that family.

THis is the area it was near 7-mile bridge on the keys

The vine was about as big around as a pencil and very long (8-10ft.) I followed it into some grassy area and was startled by a rather large iguana.

I found some dry pods and took a few seeds, What do you think are my chances of growing them here in Indiana?

Gus - I see a vine similiar that grows along the sand dunes at the beach here. It helps prevent erosion and I am always amazed how well they grow under such harsh conditions. Nice photos of the vines! I can see a bud getting ready to bloom in one of the photos! Too bad you didn't get a photo of an open bloom. I would try the seeds, but you wlll probably need some very sandy soil to grow the seeds in and lots of hot sunlight! :-)

I think it looks most likely the I. violacea
I plan to try the seeds in soil with a lot of sand added, most likely in a pot on my cement area it gets the hottest there.
Thanks for the help
Cinda
