I imagion it is poisonous but... Im not sure. Southern Ohio. My father in-law caught this spider in a jar & me being a photographer, I would like to get a "nature type" shot but... not sure if I want to let it out of the jar. Please identify.
Thank you,
Todd

CLOSED: Please Identify This Spider?
This is a harmless (to humans) orb weaving spider (family Araneidae), likely an immature marbled orb weaver, Araneus marmoreus - this is a highly variable species; see http://tinyurl.com/lnsaqv for some examples. Like nearly all spiders, they possess venom glands, but they are not capable of inflicting a dangerous bite.
