I was told this is a Catawba...Catalba worm. Found it in the GH yesterday. It is probably 4inches long and rather pretty. Is it what I was told or something else?

This is not a Catalpa caterpillar; it more likely is a green morph of the pink-spotted hawkmoth, Agrius cingulata (Lepidoptera: Sphingidae) - see http://tinyurl.com/ykt3swb for an example.
Ginger, here is a picture of the Catalpa sphinx larvae so you will know what they look like.
