I'm trying to work out what spider this is.
There is a heap of them in my garden.

as you can see, the legs start of black, but are yellowish/brown in the middle, before being black again.
outside on web.
they have a fairly large web.
im in SE queensland, Australia.

even if you could narrow it down would be nice.

I cannot be certain, but this may be a golden silk spider (Nephila sp.; family Nephilidae) - see http://tinyurl.com/yg2969y for some images.
