Mrs. Ed............I was going to call the Rehabber in Ft. Jones this morning (thanks for the list) but Osgood (that's what I named the owl) was looking so chipper this morning that I took it outside and it flew off to this nearby fir. It appeared to be healthy again.

I hung a feeder on the porch right outside my side door and snapped a pic of a male House Sparrow.

I'm on the look out for Western Screech and Northern Pygmy owls now, as I usually see them in the colder season. None so far.........

It was a good way to start the day, watching Osgood fly off.

Love the name Osgood and happy to hear he was feeling well enough to fly. Hope he'll return to say hi now and then. Great job Adel! He sure was cute.

gorgeous day here today, great for taking pictures but instead I was cleaning gutters and getting upt the rest of the leaves. yuck!

Adel, glad to hear that, the little Owl Osgood is ok, Love seeing a close-up of him.
Hack, I don't get to see, the House Sparrow in my yard, I've seen them, only once this year, at a Tim Horton coffee drive threw, of all places.:)

Here's a pic , which I thought, had some Eagles in, but it soon changed into Ravens, on the ID thread. Resin told me, the sure identifying mark was the diamond shape tail.

The ever curious, Black-capped Chickadee.

I have a bit more Goldfinches , at the feeders now.

The Downy Woodpecker, is back in my yard.

I bet Burd was right. Probably just was tired and hungry from being trapped in the house and trying to get out.

Turkey Vulture flying yesterday...

The TV Association had another meeting this morning....

The attendance was 50 members scattered among half a dozen trees...

This rather impressive large bird was the last to leave just before 11:30 am.

Probably the Chairman of the Board. Very funny commentary, nanny.

Hmm, wonder what the conference was all about, Nanny.!?! :)

I bet it was about food.

Burn, the Goldfinch, Chickadee and wp are great photos! Do you have sap in those trees or are the wps finding acorns?
Nanny, that's a lot of vultures. They sure must have been some meeting.
Met, excellent photos of the Rail. Our rails always rush into the tullies so fast when they see our boat.
Missey, great shots of the vultures. Looks like they were enjoying the morning sun and airing their wings.


This eagle was pretty far off, but I was surprised to see there really aren't many tail feathers in the bird.

On friday I finally found some Cedar Waxwings in good light!! WOO HOO
