I've been searching through so many moth and butterfly ID websites and have not found this one anywhere. Anyone know what it is? I've never seen anything like it around here.
Thanks!
What kind of moth or butterfly is this?
This moth is in the family Pyralidae; it might be Palpita quadristigmalis (see http://tinyurl.com/y9th7yc for an image) or Palpita kimballi (see http://tinyurl.com/ye2sgwf for an image). Your specimen is too worn to see whether the small wing spots characteristic of P. quadristigmalis are present or not.
