SUNFLOWERS for 2010 - whose here?
Things are quiet out by the pool. It's pretty much in between growing seasons right now. Most stuff has been planted and its about 6 weeks before I can start growing things from seed for winter flowers. Just keep a few things out by the pool right now. Late August/early September is when I'm most busy during the year. I've always considered it to be the beginning of the gardening season.
Here's a couple of pics from out by the pool this afternoon. This is Exacum "Navy Star" & white Canterbury Bells.
Beautiful Jon. I especially love the Calla. I have one calla and its not yet to bloom stage but is so far looking pretty good.
I love the blue. Canterbury bells have been a difficulty here.
Love that palm too.
I was just out mowing and that figures.. it started to rain. My butt hits the desk and the sun is back out. The weather is taunting me and I have a lot of mowing to do.
This is the first year I've had some calla lilies blooming since their initial blooming year. The second year I just got foliage. This year finally seeing some blooms again. This area behind the pool I pulled out the hibiscus to give me some empty space to work with. Taking my sweet time filling it in with things. Here's some different colors/varieties of Echinacea there this afternoon.
Well, it rained just enough to get everything damp and not mowable. Just a tease.
I need to get back outdoors though, the animals are hollering feed me. Rain or shine some critter around here is hungry.
I think I will check my glads to see if anymore popped open.
