This spider appears to be in the family Miturgidae (prowling spiders), likely a Cheiracanthium sp. See http://tinyurl.com/yh4awqz for an example. Some of these spiders can deliver quite a painful bite.

just a question, since I live in a highrise and pretty much rare to see bugs of any kind(pretty much only fruit flies), will the spider leave or stay in the house and pretty much die? missed on capturing it bcause it hid and got away.

Even if prey is scarce, it might stick around for a while - they can go for a while without eating. It's biggest threat to survival probably is dehydration.

any methods to getting rid of it other than finding and catching it? bugs are pretty rare and it's got me paranoid lol. scanning the walls and floors everytime I go into a room.

That's about it - I don't see any need for 'going nuclear' on this one. It's not going to jump on you; the primary cause of bites from spiders of this nature appears to be when one accidentally gets pressed against when it is hidden in bedclothing or other fabric.

ok. i asked on this forum(not insect related) and some of them were telling me it might be a brown recluse lol. kinda had me freaked for a bit.

There is so much misinformation about brown recluse spiders on the internet as to boggle the mind. Except as a very rare 'hitchhiker,' they do not occur in Canada, period.
