it does look like a curculio or weevil of some kind but the picture isn't good enough to really tell for sure.

There are several genera of weevils that can have a similar body shape. A clearer, close-up photo may help, but as there are some 6000 species of weevils in Australia, it may take an expert in the group to make a determination.
