Happy belated Birthday, Arlan - you are very missed

To the forum, Arlan brought a dimension of ongoing education, related to a profound appreciation of morning glories, to the forum that was much appreciated. For incredibly beautiful photography in tandem with explanatory text, click on his DG home page here - http://davesgarden.com/members/Atenkley/ - and then scroll down to the link to his home page on his website.

Karen
http://collectionsonline.lacma.org/mwebcgi/mweb.exe - This woodcut was designed by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi, titled "Modern Gallants with Morning Glories" and published in 1860 toward the end of the Edo period in Japan. Arlan, I hope you like this one - in the upper right corner is a morning glory that appears to have that duplicate gene you posted about like this one - http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=3870714 , for example.

To newbies on the forum, there's more about the duplicate gene with respect to this particular morning glory in Arlan's home page on his website - gorgeous pictures. You can also find old woodcuts that made portraits of this flower on Dr. Yoneda's website, which has a link in the sticky index.
