just cloudy days ahead.....so it begins...winter.
Home remedy for powdery mildew
It makes you really appreciate the days that the sun is out :).
Thats one thing I like about living near Atlanta, the winter months might be cold but its mostly sunny! Do miss the snow up north though. I miss alot of things up north, but at least I can still visit. tish
Sunny today!
Happy "Sun" day blossombuddy :).
Why thank you "mom"! It was a delightful December day today.
I was looking at the wax begonias and it looks like the moo-ju is working. Might just have that PMs on the run. I am going to hit them again with another mist tomorrow. I dont think it will hurt them.
Sadly, I have no sunny windows I can put them in.. Maybe one day if I ever get the south room empty and with more space and 6'2" can make me a plant stand! Dream on BB!
lol. I take it 6'2" lives with you? That was funny, lol.
Some 20+ years very happily married!!! ....Still on that wonderful honeymoon! Seems like we are still dating!!! All we know is when the anniversary rolls around when someone asks how long, both of us get sheepish and always say NOT long enough. (The older we get, saves face trying ta remember to count all the years! )
He sez, just get me some oxy/ace baby! Oh yea and dont forget the welding rods and conduit!....and some time! Men and their toys.. his thing is a welder. I say, handover the paycheck and you got it! LOL!
A moment of silence whilst I offer up all my begonias to the almighty compost heap. May they RIP!
Gone are my Rex, Gone are my waxes and gone are the Reigers..
While it looked for a bit that I had the PM under control, all it took was a week of neglect and WHAM.. they are history.
After over a month of trying to rid them of PM...I have learned one thing.. it may be far cheaper to dump them early than to treat them. I feel like I wasted my time.
On a good note though, I have had an explosion of impatien, coleus and mum cuttings to fill their void! Now all the indoor plants look very healthy!
And and and GOT A LOVELY NEW GESNE!!!
Welcome to my home lil Corytoplectus cutucuensis
Aw, blossom, I'll observe a moments silence with you. What a pretty plant you have now, though. Some plants are hard to keep even without disease, so you gave a good try to save the little guys lives. Sorry it was for naught :(...
Thanks 'mom'! Well I do think that home remedy was working, it wasjust I had a bad week and the begs were under watered. So that week for them turned into about actually2 weeks of neglect. Owell. I will get more begs in the spring. Try a different variety,...... keep them outside!
I hope I can get a few more of thos C.c's though.. they sure are lovely! And apparently a rare find!
I'm sorry about your Begonias!! Your new plant is lovely though.
hate to hear about the begonias-- i am battling Pm seriously-- these frosty temps are cooling the Gh down more than i would like, even tho I have fans it is just too cool. I have another electric heater-- but the roads are so bad i can't get out to kill it. Congrats on the coryplectus--very nice!
