CLOSED: CLOSED: What larva am I?

Kerrville, TX(Zone 8a)

Please i.d. There were five of these guys eating crape myrtle leaves. If they develop into a moth or butterfly, they will be returned to eat as much as they like. Hopefully, they don't sting.
Thanks.

I located info on this caterpillar. It is an Io Moth, and they do sting. They eat the foliage of many different plants, and their favorite is wild cherry.

It is a very pretty moth though.

Those little tufts of "hairs" will sting you if you happen to handle them, or brush against them. Just stay away and enjoy.
