Hey Liz,
Just popped in for a moment this morning and wanted to wish you a very Happy Birthday. I am off and running myself as I am working on my dads 90th Birthday party next week also.
Have a wonderful day to a very helpful lady. :-)

Happy Birthday, Liz! Hope you have a wonderful day.

Oh, Liz....I'll bet you're in Half Moon Bay...or Annie's...or Berkeley Hort...Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday Liz! Gorgeous weather today, so I hope you're doing something special!
Thanks everyone! A friend of mine is town so we're having dinner tonight, then I expect I'll be hitting some nurseries tomorrow!
Uh Huh.....
Happy Birthday, ecrane; hope you had a great day!
Belated Happy Birthday Liz. (fellow Scorpio) Hope it was a nice one. (25?)
Thanks! It was a very nice b-day...and you guessed my age exactly right! LOL Although I've been debating recently if I should start saying I'm 30 instead...I think people are starting to have a hard time believing 25! But it sure sounds better!
My great-grandma used to say "I'm 29 going on indefinitely."
I like your Great-Grandma's way of thinking!
My mom started going backwards - can't remember at what number she stopped, or if she just started at 0 again - she's always been a kid anyway.
Happy belated birthday Liz!
Happy Belated Birthday ecrane!
May you have sunshine when you need it,
Rain to nourish your soul.
May you have good friends to share laughter with,
As you grow another another year or so!
Walk In Beauty!

Thank you ladies! Someone else suggested to me the idea of a "birth week" instead of a birthday--so it's not really belated when it's still my birthweek! (I didn't get enough plant shopping in on my actual birthday so I definitely need the extension!)
I kind of like the idea of Name Days, instead of Birthdays, but that's an Indian Thing. By all means take a week, birthdays by whatever name should be longer! Happy plant shopping!

Happy Belated Liz! and thanks for all the advice and support. It is always appreciated.

Thank you both! Kell--love those flowers, very pretty! I'm still celebrating my b-day at least until Saturday when I'll have a chance to go plant shopping again!
Where are you off to Saturday? I have noticed a big declione in what is in nurseries. I am off to Armstrongs and Orchards in Lafayette today with another Daver. More to look at Christmas decorations and to go out for lunch. When I was at Orchards last month, they looked like they were going to have a great Christmas display this year, better than last.
I haven't decided yet--probably my usual route of Grand Lake Ace, Longs, Berkeley Hort, and Annie's (Grand Lake sometimes gets skipped though because they don't open until 10). Or I haven't been to Sierra Azul in Watsonville recently so I may make a trip down there instead. I haven't been as excited by the nurseries lately either--I wasn't sure if they were getting worse or if it was because I really, truly am out of room in the garden, plus I'm really trying to watch the finances and buying plants I don't have room for is a logical place to cut back! LOL But if you've noticed it too then maybe there is something real going on!
Not much at all out there! We went to Orchards, Sloats and Navlets. I didn't have to talk myself out of anything great. However, I bought 4 flats of pansies. I am pansy nuts this year. I already bought a couple of flats at East Bay and Berk. Hort last week. I have promised myself to plant them all up tomorrow. I already let my first flats dry out and they look half dead. I hate when I do that.
Orchard's Christmas display was a let down. No WOW ornaments for either of us. We did have a nice lunch at Piatti.
I have been out of room and money for years. Does not stop me at all. LOL
Maybe I should do some mail order plant shopping instead! I still find things I want from the mail order nurseries, just not as much locally as I used to.
The retail nurseries seem to be not doing much ordering from the wholesale nurseries. I've watched the growing grounds of large wholesale nurseries by us and they keep filling up more and more land with 5 gallon pots and they're still producing, but things are sitting there getting shaggy and a lot left untended. Of course, down here we have the double whammy of the economy and even less water / rain than you guys get up there.
Too true, wc, seen the same thing here.
