while moving into my new house and getting the garage set up, I moved an old oil canister in the corner that had obviously been there a while. a nice sized black widow was lurking behind it. took it out to the road and continued moving in a bit spooked.
moved one of the boxes that had not been settled for more than a couple days and on the backside of the box was a pretty large spider that I'd never seen before. It was very docile and cooperated as I moved it and placed a quarter next to it. It seemed as if it was almost playing dead or pretending I couldn't see it.
Any help with identifying it?

CLOSED: what kind of spider is this
This spider appears to be Zoropsis spinimana (family Zoropsidae). It is an introduced species from the Mediterranean region and is harmless to humans. See http://tinyurl.com/yguzuf6 for detailed information.
that's it! looked a lot scarier than it actually is. crazy that it is originally from sunnyvalle which is the city just north of me. info says the spider mainly has moved north up the west side of the bay towards san francisco. this one must have headed in the wrong direction!
thanks suunto
