Question on seeds

Arcata, CA(Zone 9b)

Today I went into the yard and found a seed pod splitting open. I picked and opened it. All the seeds are white/yellow, not brown. Are they still good if I let them dry or should I throw them away?
Thanks

Did you hold some of them up to the light to see if they had embryos? I collected some that look like that just tonight and they appear to have embryos. I don't know if it is my imagination but they seem to be fatter than those boring brown ones...

Yes, they look okay, other than their color.
Thanks

Well I'm keeping mine for sure! I wonder if the white is an artifact of being rather wet. I'm drying them out in paper cups now.

Same thing, drying them out.
Thanks

I was going to say that my guess is that white is the outer tissue paper part, and the yellow is the center part, that is in transition to turning brown. But this is not correct? How about a little more in depth description, and what species/hybrids are these?

They come from Oriental cross. I just checked and most of them are dried now, brown...Some of them look like they have an embryo.
