I love both of the photos too. Thanks for sharing Hart.

Okay, here he is!!
Thanks, y'all. Mom has a hard time smiling since the stroke. I don't think it's paralysis, maybe just that part of the brain affected. Anyway, she is smiling in the photo. I miss her old smile.
Awww.....I watched Alzheimer's steal my mother's life. What a nasty disease it is. By the time of my mom's death, I had pretty much grieved the loss of her as the mother I knew during my life. There was only a shell left of the vibrant woman she had been. Death was truly a blessing when it came for her. I understand your nostalgic thoughts.
Be well dear Hart.
Ruby
Ruby, What a terrible disease that is. So sorry for your experience. But, I know exactly what you mean about grieving while they are alive. Having seen 3 family members through long illnesses, you do grieve all along and death almost comes as a relief. So those bright moments do become memories that you cherish forever.
Beautiful Pup and Beautiful Ladies!!
You know exactly what I mean Stormy.
Ruby
Have mercy, Diane is he ADORABLE or what....I'm so happy for you!! Love the pic of mom as well!!! Bet you are BUSY with that little guy!!
WE NEED MORE PIX!!!

Did Bandit get your camera?? Oh,oh. I guess he won't sit still long enough now. He's busy checking out the premises. He is really a handsome dog, Hart.
You have no idea what a hard time I had getting those photos. Elderly ladies wiggle more than puppies. LOL Bandit went to the vet yesterday to get his next round of shots. They all went nuts over him. He weighs a whopping 6 lbs now and is growing like a weed.
I'll try to get some more photos of him Thursday. My brother is coming up and taking Mom to his house for dinner so I hope I'll have some photo taking time. Here's another photo with Mom watching tv with him on her lap. She was very tired that day, hadn't slept well the night before, which is why she looks so grumpy.
Great Therapy pup, Hart!! He seems to really enjoy being with your mother. Like that cute little sweater.
Hart, Bandit is so cute. Ric's cousin had a Boston Terrier for years they are very nice dogs and very smart. Sorry to hear of Joyce's surgery, hope she will be feeling better soon.
Joyce came home from rehab yesterday. I think she's pushing it to be there by herself but you can't tell her anything.
You all can't imagine what a good little thing he is. Yesterday, he sat on my lap for ages then I put him in his carrier while I helped Joyce with something with the top wide open and he stayed right there.
It sounds like Bandit has good instincts about "his" people & what they need! Those are sweet photos. :-)
Hart, It sounds like you've got him trained somewhat already.
What a doll!!! I know what I am going to do the next time I start feeling low. I am going to come to this thread and look at his pictures. He can be therapy pup to me too.
Ruby
hart, just checking in and love all the photos of Bandit with your Mom and Joyce :) I love the last one you posted - that's one RELAXED pup!!
Debbie, I've never had a dog do this - he nurses on that little frog toy in the photo. He gets one of the ears in his mouth and just nurses away while pumping with his paws. He only does it with the frog toy, nothing else. That was the first toy I have him so maybe it has some of the smells carried by him of his mother and littermates?
Thanksgiving evening, we gave him some little bits of turkey, his first taste of something other than puppy food. Oh, my, you could see the spark of true revelation light up in his eyes. LOL
Anyway, I was busy in the kitchen when Marshall was giving him tidbits. I came out with some for him and Marshall said, "Tell him down" before giving him his turkey. I said he wouldn't understand what down meant. I didn't know it had taken Marshall about twice of showing him down to teach him. So I said down and he went down on his belly in a flash. It was so cute.
He learned sit just about as fast a couple of days before.
I have got to get some photos done, maybe tonight. He's growing so fast. Still not as big as a minute, though. He weighs a whopping 6 lbs.
LOL." ... the spark of true revelation....". that's pretty funny hart.
Lucky puppy to be living at Diane and Marshall's house. He doesn't have a clue that he's in for hamburgers too. :-)
My Zora still sucks on a toy and paddles with her feet while she does it and she's 6. I think that it's nice that they have a way to comfort themselves.
hello doss. i voted on zora's picture. what a funny picture.
Glad that you liked it mamajack. She's a funny little dog!
I was always told years ago that cats did that if they were taken from their mamas too young but I've had cats that nursed all their lives and I know weren't weaned too young. I think it's simply that some animals must get comfort out of that and some don't. I've never had a dog that did it. It's so cute.
Zora and Penny are both so pretty and characters of the first magnitude too.
Dorothie, I wish you could have seen his face when he tasted that turkey. He has such an expressive face anyway and he really did looked like, "Wow! This stuff is GREAT!" LOL
I wish that I could have seen his face too. He's just adorable.
i have seen that look myself hart on animals and babies. i just never put it into words before and you did it perfectly. he is such a cute little boy. i love his face. kiss it for me.
Awwww.......Bandit wants to know if you are fixing another turkey at Christmas and also wants to know if he is invited this time too? hahaha About the craziest my dogs have acted around food is when they got a whiff of some really tasty steaks that John did on the grill a few months back. Now that I think about it, we don't eat steak here very often at all, so it really was a treat for them then. I will be telling them to not hold their breaths.
Ruby
can he growl? does he growl? i love to hear puppies growling.
Yes, he has the cutest growl. I've only heard him do play growls, not serious ones.
