It's a tropical hib Anne
Who bloomed for you in '09?
Nice one Anne. I haven't seen "Texas Aggie" available in quite some time....I just know it exists. There are several out there named after universities.
Gators Pride is one I've always admired.
Anne,
Red Capitolio was always a great consistent bloomer for me. If I manage to not kill any hibiscus this winter, I may reward myself by getting those two.
Barb
I love that Gator Pride too, nice picture!
and the bloom is still there tonight.
yes its a very pretty flower
I had a Nightmare bloom fall off the plant into the pot on Thursday and was still blooming yesterday. One good thing about cooler temps - longer lasting blooms!
Barb
Very very true. Two and three day blooms are much more common in cooler weather.
Hey Anne, that Gator Pride is gorgeous. Just love it.
Jon, haven't see the Texas Aggie? Who has it? Think there is an orange lookin one for UT. The cooler weather is kinder to Hib blooms.
Thanks for sharing, Anne.
Judy
I don't think anyone has Texas Aggie right now. I recall seeing a picture of it in the past and it was hybridized by Barry Schleuter, in Texas. Yes, Hidden Valley has one named after the University Of Texas, named "Longhorn Pride".
Jon
Oh that's just wrong, lol.
LOL. Y'all know, its all about the "Hook Em Horns".

Thanks for posting Texas Aggie. I knew it existed, but couldn't find a photo of it. Excellent
Great looking hib Karen, its beautiful, got any more we haven't seen yet, thanks for posting it.
