Lilacs for our area

Raleigh, NC

Finally found some pics to show location, though these pics were taken two years ago, so the plant is quite small...you can barely see it just behind the black stake that is sticking up (which was marking a plant that failed to come up, alas...).

Pic #2....shooting the opposite direction...the lilac is planted just to the left of the corner of the chiken pen, on the far right of the pic...

I decided to put mine in the front yard where they'll receive morning sun then dappled shade the rest of the day. I think they'll do ok there but will keep a watchful eye on them.

Hey, BonJon--I saw 'Miss Kim' at the sale, and thought of this post.

Yep, chickens. Tell your spouse they're great. They don't barf on the floor or have to go to the kennel or track mud in the house. And unlike the other non-human residents of my household, they are actually USEFUL!!

I planted my Miss Kim's a while back in my front yard where they get morning sun, then dappled shade the rest of the day, and so far, so good. Of course, all that rain we've had this past month hasn't hurt. They actually put out a couple small blooms for me.

well, mine is still in the pot, and it's about time to plant it.
