These spiders are taking over my house and seem to use existing webs. They do however have spinnerettes because one came down from the ceiling at me during my shower. I have seen them in the bathrooms and under beds the most. I have four children and really don't want to risk any serious spider bites...thanks in advance for everyone's help.
what kind of spider is this
This is a male spider in the family Theridiidae (cobweb/comb-footed spiders); possibly Steatoda grossa - see http://tinyurl.com/yh5nlmv for images. Sometimes known as false black widows, females of this species can deliver a painful but not dangerous bite (bite symptoms reportedly can resemble a very mild back widow bite - see http://tinyurl.com/yjb6hgz)
