Help identify this spider

Took this pic in my backyard. What kind of spider is it, and is it dangerous? I've checked the same spot twice in the past 4 days and it has been there in its web.

This is a long-jawed orb weaver (family Tetragnathidae) known as an orchard spider (Leucauge sp.) - see http://tinyurl.com/ykdxupv for images. There appears to be some debate about specific names in this genus, but I believe that yours is Leucauge venusta - see http://tinyurl.com/ylf6mbc
