Found this in my back yard (now a pet, and feeding in the picture)
Albuquerque, NM
CLOSED: What kind of jumping spider is this?
It is in the genus Phidippus; possibly Phidippus johnsoni, a common western species - see http://tinyurl.com/ygalszq for an image. However, there are at least two other species (Phidippus clarus and Phidippus californicus - see http://tinyurl.com/ykjkgln and http://tinyurl.com/yglclgy, respectively) that can have a similar color pattern.
