I want to know if anyone has any information on who was the Cullen whose name is on the genus Cullen (now I believe Psoralea)? If you have any info please include your source if you have one.

I don't see anything in any of these references that indicate that the genus was named for him. W.P.U. Jackson in Origins and Meanings of Names of South African Plant Genera says it's named for William Cullen, 1785–1862, Army officer and meteorologist . Lieutenant-general, Royal Artillery. Entered the East India Company, 1804. Resident at Travancore, India. Studied economic botany, but I can't find any confirmation of this either.
