Spent a few days in Hyde Park and Rhineback. Had a great time. We visited Eleanor Roosevelt's home, walked over the newly opened Walkway Over the Hudson pedestrian bridge, went for a hike and saw the airshow at the Old Rhineback Aerodrome. Had some great food as well.
Happened to be on the bridge as the Half Moon replica passed by.
Great fall weekend!
Walkway - I highly recommend it.

Nice Victor, sounds like you had a good time. DH has been talking about that walkway for awhile. Maybe I'll see it on the way to the city next weekend.
It's well worth the trip - provided it's a nice day.
Looked crowded. When did it open?
Last weekend.
Nice photos Victor, I LOVE the trail shot! Looks a nice weekend for it too!!
Great photos....but where's Snoopy and the Red Baron?
Nice, Victor! Looks like you had fun. I'd like to visit that place someday.
Karen
wow what an exciting looking weekend!!!
My niece lives in Croton. I'll send to her.
Very pretty area----loved the Half Moon! Have never been to Rhinebeck---it's not that far from my son.
This thread is a great pictorial synopsis of your trip, Victor! I'd like to visit that area sometime! Beautiful views of the Hudson too. That last photo you snapped on your way home should be entered in the photo contest. That's a spectacular foliage/water view! Did the boys enjoy the trip as much as you did? I think it is great that you take such nice family vacations - an education it itself for the boys!
Thanks, Louise. Yes, the boys loved it. My older one is afraid of heights but he summoned the courage to cross that bridge! And it's pretty high. Much higher than the nearby Mid-Hudson bridge.
Very cool! I'm not sure how well I'd do on it myself. The Sunshine Skyway in Saint Petersburg, FL gives me the jitters whenever we go over it. I can feel my heart rate rise.
