Usually the ones I see are brown and black. What's this one?

How about a Banded Tusock Moth Caterpillar?

Sinks Grove, WV

Definitely not a tussock moth caterpillar; more likely another member of the family Arctiidae, such as the so-called 'yellow bear' (Spilosoma virginica) - see http://tinyurl.com/yzhds6l for an example. Caterpillars of this species can be extremely variable in color, from nearly white to very dark brown.
