Hey, this is a bug that my friends little sister saw when they were in Florida.
They were in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida just south of Clearwater,
can anybody ID it?
Bud id! Florida bug
It is a member of the group called walking sticks

This is a stick insect all right, and one that you may wish to avoid handling. It appears to be Anisomorpha buprestoides, which can spray a caustic fluid from glands just behind its head when it feels threatened - see http://tinyurl.com/yfj6h59 for detailed information.
