Louisa's new grandson

I have just spoken with Louisa, and after 22 hours of hard labor, they did a c-section to get Ben delivered. He and Louisa's D,DD are ok, but Lorraine is weak and tired. Louisa will be trying to get in touch with Lorraine, and hoping to go to Germany to see her and Ben and DSIL sometime very soon. She said that she may not be in touch here for a time and I told her that we would include her and her family in our prayers.

Kathleen, thanks for the update. Our thoughts and prayers will be with Louisa and her family - I know she can hardly wait to be there with them!

Oh thats wonderful-I sure hope she feels better soon. I understand her pain-5c-sections for 5 boys! Get the pain shots!(morphine pump was the best)I will keep them all in my prayers! Is he a lil Ben or a BIG Ben? =]

((((Hello my dear friends)))) Thank you all so much for your lovely messages and to those of you who mailed me you can be sure I will write back to each one of you as soon as I can. Kathleen many thanks for taking care of this for me :-) I haven't slept since Saturday night and I will soon need matchsticks to prop my eyes open...lol!! And on top of all this I had to visit the dentist today...can you believe it!!!! My DD sounded a little stronger when I spoke to her a second time, thank God! She told me in a little whisper at 1 am this morning, "Mum, I had my baby two hours ago". I wasn't there for her!! Is it any wonder I didn't sleep!! After 2 miscarriages and a stillborn you can imagine my joy!! She had been induced and had 22 hours of intense contractionst before the doc decided to perform the C. section!! Gentle Ben :-) .....weighed in at 7.1/2lbs and is 52cm long! I am so happy for the proud parents and so greatly relieved!! He is a little bruised but this will disappear in time. She will be in the hospital for about 10 days and she would rather I fly to Germany when she returns home with Ben - I will be more use to her at that time. Meanwhile she can rest and get well again. I have a lot of arranging to do and I will try to post when I am ready to leave. In the meantime, God bless everyone, keep the flags flying - American and British - and be kind to each other :-) Luv ya!!!

Well now that I've stopped crying after reading all your beautiful messages........DD is a little better today and I heard Ben cry :-) She hasn't eaten for 5 days and is still in a lot of pain, but pain is what my poor daughter knows all about!! I am booking our flights tomorrow and unless something turns up we are leaving on 15th October and coming back 6th November. Managed to do some gardening today and tidy up!! Tonight I will be knitting!! Started a little sweater last night and can't wait to get back to it, so if you don't see me here you know what I will be doing!!
