This little fuzzy guy is about 1 inch long. Does anyone know who he is?
CLOSED: Who is this caterpillar?
This appears to be a caterpillar of the hickory tussock moth (Lophocampa caryae; Lepidoptera: Arctiidae) - see http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/1662/
Be careful handling it, some of its hairs can cause an itchy skin rash.
Thanks, suunto! I guess I was lucky. I actually carried it around for a minute while I ran to get my camera but didn't get a rash.
