Hi:
I found this spider crawling on my bed at 1 AM. Needless to say I was extremely scared! What kind of spider is it? Should I be concerned?
I live in New England, if that makes a difference.
Thanks for your help!
CLOSED: Found This Spider On My Bed! Help! What is it?
This is a fine, fat, female wolf spider (family Lycosidae) that likely wandered indoors while hunting prey. Although large specimens can deliver a painful bite if mishandled, they are not dangerous, and otherwise are harmless to humans.
Thank you for your insight and quick reply! Glad to hear it's not of real danger — but it's still scary!
Thanks again!
