Bonnie, I am not getting the swine flu shot, but did get the regular flu shot this morning. So far........so good. Last year I had a fever and a knot for two weeks that made my arm red all the way around............

I will let you know how I feel for the next few days. It is very sore but nothing other than that right now.............

Bonnie, are you feeling better? How about you, Jim? Gail, did the shot make you sick?

I hope you all feel good today! ^_^

Hi ,

Susan I would love some strep babies just Dmail me to let me know what I need do to get some :) and thank you muchly for asking :)

The flu shots .................have never had one and havehad the flu that I know of , the flu shots don't keep you from getting the flu they just keep you from getting it so badly , they make it a milder form , some people think the shots prevent the flu .

Hugs and well wishes of wellness to you all :)

I have only had the flu once in my life in my 40's. Never ever have I been that sick. I couldn't get my temp below 103 for three days. After I got well, I have never missed one year getting a flu shot. Up until the year I had the flu, I had never gotten a flu shot.

oops my post got snarled .....................meant to say I have never had a flu shot and have never had the flu that I know of , I am kind of sensitive and am afraid I might have a bad reaction to the shot so I hope to avoid it

Connie

PS I had never had strep throat in all my life of taking cae of and having children but then after all those years I did get strep and was soooooooo sick , not a high temp but chills and aches nd a sore throat that felt like I was swallowing it every time i swallowed , got antibiotics and was fine except i got a yeast infection and had never had that before either so one thing leads to another , icky all the way now I don't take antibiotics just on a doctors whim , I have to need it in my own mind not just in the doctors opinion .

Connie :)

Back on topic?
After reading this thread in regards to water, I used the fish tank PH strips to test my tap water. It was definitely less acidic after sitting a day or two - letting the chlorine waft out into the air perhaps? Also, what is reverse osmosis water? Is this something you purchase, or make a home? Does it have more oxygen or something? Thanks for helping out a newbie!

Off topic - just had my 1st flu shot this year. No major reaction, except I got stung by a yellow jacket on the same arm, almost the same spot and that is taking a long time to heal up.
My DH and DD#2 have to get swine flu shots this year. DH is diabetic and at risk and DD#2 has a history of pneumonia and is at risk. I just don't feel like getting sick and the doc offered it when I went in to get my bad knee checked out.....

are diabetics at risk for the swine flu?i might want to be careful then

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Hi Jim,
The body's defenses are not as strong if one is diabetic. My DH's dr. wants him to be as protected as possible. He's type 2, not on insulin. So far so good. He's controlled with minimum meds and diet. I'm still trying to get the exercise part into the picture more.
I've heard some horrid stories of complications of swine flu (going to pneumonia, staph infect. etc.) = better safe than sorry.

so, what is reverse osmosis water and what can it do for plants??
