Has anyone used this product on veggies and found it to be safe? I am trying to locate a source for it in CA to be mailed to me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Captain Jack's Dead Bug Brew, liquid spray bottle
The active ingredient in that is Spinosad and there are other brands of it besides that one--I've found Green Light brand Spinosad at a local nursery here so you might look for that one if you can't find Captain Jack's. I've never used it on food but it is approved for use on food crops. You'll need to read the label to see how many days before harvest it's OK to apply it.
I just took a winter gardening class at a local nursery and Captain Jack dead bug is one they recommended for winter veggies.
I haven't tried it yet but I might.
Linda, did your class instructor say where you could purchase it? Is it available at the nursery where the class was given? If so, would you please tell me the name of the nursery and where it is located. Thanks
Do you have an Armstrong in your area? That's where I got the Green Light spinosad which is basically the same thing.
SungoldTom, do you know Peaceful Valley Farm Supply in Grass Valley? This search link is for "spinosad" on their site:

They're a fantastic organic gardening supplier I've used for years. Their shipping is kinda pricey for me, but I think they're not far from you?
I took the class at Navlets Garden Center in Concord. They sell it there and I did buy some. Haven't tried it yet. To my surprise it was priced reasonable.
Hope that helps.
