Here's Iris Marie. Transferred her to semi-hydro in November after nearly losing her as a cutting in soil. For some reason I struggled with this one! It has not stopped growing since! About every two weeks I have to clip the new growth.
Excuse the animal crackers in the background - want to use that as a little terrarium, but I've been working on those darn things for about 2 months now! Even started using them as dog treats!
Semi-Hydroponics Revisited
When I have more time I'll take some pics of some of the ones I have outside and some that I have in glass vases or dishes.

P.S. Shelley, that really was funny!
Kelly, that's a very nice looking cv. Iris Marie! Mine has grown so much since I got it from a friend a year ago. I repotted it last week or the week before using one of the spiral trellises I got at Target and I'm not really liking it on that particular trellis and I'm thinking about repotting again, LOL ... I am so bad about changing my mind, it's a wonder some of my plants live very long! I might take a few cuttings to try in the Semi Hydro.
I broke a couple of pieces off of imperialis and cummingiana when repotting those as well and just potted the cuttings up in my regular mix. The cummingiana cutting rooted quickly and I was surprised at how fast it set roots, but the imperialis cutting hasn't rooted yet so I might try that one in Semi Hydro.
Oh, I look forward to seeing more of your pictures! Your H. fungii is really pretty, I like the looks of that foliage.
Kelly, thanks so much for taking the time to post those pictures. Those are some really beautiful looking plants. So clearly semi-hydro does indeed work for some Hoyas. It is really helpful to see photos and actually get first hand reports of how this method is working or not working. Now a couple of questions: How do you know when to water your plants in these pots? Do you water when there is no water left in the saucer? Do you flush these things out with water from the top once in a while?

Thanks Kelly...I especially appreciate your take on things because you live so near to me that our growing conditions are practically identical...I think I'll do what you did--keep the hydro as a "trick" to try when something is obviously struggling under my normal care...
Beautiful looking plants!
Shelley
