I have found many of these spiders inside of my office building in New Jersey. Average size, including the legs, being about the same as a 1/2 dollar coin.
I apologize for the bad picture, I'm on the hunt for another!
Google has me paranoid that they are brown recluse spiders.

Definitely not a recluse spider; these are not native to New Jersey. It most likely is one of the so-called 'funnel web spiders' in the family Agelenidae - see http://tinyurl.com/5owuzh
