Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Shannon I really enjoyed seeing your cats and the continuing adventures of the traveling Wee Folk! At this time of year seeing green grass, flowers, STRAWBERRIES on the plant, hearts in beaches and a blue lake was a very welcome sight.

Betty your Thanksgiving decorations are lovely (the rich colours really pop) and I loved seeing your pond shot.

Cheers, Pam

Victoria Harbour, ON

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I dunno, Marilyn - so many threads, so much confusion...........

~Susan~

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

I haven't heard a word from them for awhile now. They seem ill-fated on this westward journey.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Well, this would be the 3rd set of gnomes, etc, that have been sent around and gone missing.
I, for one, will not be looking at sending another gnome or group of them.
It's too disheartening to think that other DGers are being less than honourable in this, and I'd rather not go through this again.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, however it has been 3 times unlucky for our group....

~Susan~

It's OK Susan. Not that bad. It's only been since the 19th that Betty posted about mailing them that week. And we've only lost them once before. Give it a little more time, I'm sure Betty won't let everyone down.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Actually, this is the 3rd time we've sent them, but I guess since the 19th isn't that long ago, Brenda.
I'll be a little more patient, I promise lol

Must apologize for not responding and not getting the little ones in the mail..I had left for the USA last week and have been gone all week..this weekend, well let's just hear the boys tell you about it...

Betty has been cutting wood and preparing for the 3rd Daves Garden Workshop..this year all the participants got to chose a project that she listed (8 in all-all different) so we've been cutting out wood and doing up packages as Betty will be travelling shortly to the USA again and wants them ready to ship...

Bad enough we're in amongst the sawdust but Betty has costumes to make and have ready for tomorrow to ship to Toronto, we'll be going one way and the costumes another..lol

6 tables in the craft room and everyone filled with a different project...imagine, us helping sew a Vampire Chicken costumes...

Kyle's trying it on so that adjustments can be made..we've not got the body and feet done..

A special technique called grungy used for legs and feet..glad it's them in the oven and not us..sure smells like cinnamon...thought she was making cookies but not...different around this household...

We went to visit the Martyrs Shrine yesterday but the metal gates were locked..closed for the season..Betty thought they at least would be open until the first snowfall so off shopping for kit supplies...

Kyle said Bert (Sesame Street) costume was missing eyes..he helped Betty complete the costume...see the eyes????

We are the eyes..

Thank you so much for the update, Betty.
You are one busy lady!
My apologies for "jumping the gun" so-to-speak. Guess I'm just a little gun-shy lol

The lads, as I've said before, will get here when they get here - thank you for minding them while they were with you ^_^

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Thanks, Betty. As far as I can recall, there was a delay somewhere around BC-Alberta on their Eastward journey, but they did eventually surface (and with a third lad). So I believe that they've only actually gone totally missing once.

And, while I can't say for sure what happened to the person who had them last summer, DG has confirmed that she has not connected to DG at all since around the time we last heard from her. Since I didn't find any on-line record of an obituary for her, I had to conclude that she became ill or incapacitated in some way.

Should be arriving before the weekend....

Sorry about the delay!!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

And you should get your plant today...
Sorry about MY delay lol

Guess "life happened" for both of us, eh? I'm sorry I "jumped the gun" about the lads, without reading the posts. I knew you were away, so obviously as you were the last one to have them, they hadn't been sent on

~Susan~

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Betty - to whom are they going now? I've sort of lost track.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ann, the list that came with the lads said 'Ceedub' - Whitby, Ontario...hope I wasn't wrong..forgot to include the the travel sheet in the box, so included it in an envelope of the top of the box....

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

I've just fetched what I THINK is the list from the "return trip" thread. It would indicate you are correct.

It said -

Bettypauze - you
ceedub - next
weslemkoon
MarilynneS -withdrawn from list
nevrest
annabell52
Tallulah_B
fancyvan
daryl
DonM47 - withdrawn

hortensia - I have no address for. Does anyone know her? If I have no response, we'll cross her off the list.

Are the others OK?

Grand Forks, BC(Zone 5b)

I was supposed to be removed from the list last month, Ann.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

I've just taken a good look at the list. It seems as though the lads aren't going anywhere because I believe we had three people in a row who had difficulty posting pictures, but they have actually visited 10 DG members so far on their trip west. Yes, it should have gone faster, but they are seeing people.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I'm not worried about when they get here. It could be Christmas for all I care - hey, they'd get to Christmas Trees, and those are trees, right? Still gardening lol
And maybe they could help decorate lol
hmmmmmmm on 2nd thought..........well, maybe even in the woods they strung holly berries, or cranberries, so I guess stringing lights isn't too far fetched? lol

Just a quick housekeeping message to say thanks, Pam! (Lilypon) Glad you enjoyed them. :-) Our fall has been late this year (as were spring and summer...) - I'm STILL raking up Norway Maple leaves. That tree should be banned (mutter mutter). The strawberry plant is inside now and still bearing, but not sure for how much longer. It will be an experiment to see if it's still around by spring. :-)
