Is this a Virginia tiger moth? Photo was taken in Pennsylvania on September 21.
CLOSED: Virginia tiger moth
That is entirely possible. This species (Spilosoma virginica) can be extremely variable in appearance - see http://tinyurl.com/ydgztlu for a couple of examples.
