New garden

Tokyo, Japan(Zone 10a)

I have been working like some mad thing thru the heat of summer to get ready for next year, climbers being my main theme
including a whole side of my garden devoted to morning glories, clematis.on the opposite side, you'll see.
I'm only interested in growing flowers, not breading, trading, or becoming involved in the short comings of this forum.
If I should manage to grow something you would like then your all welcome to any seed I can collect.
I am new to MGs and have a lot to learn but I'm not new to human nature! I'm well aware of some of the things that are going on right now and quite frankly I find them childish. I'm a real friendly guy and know that most of us on DG are too! So here's a message to those who want to disrupt and offend; No matter how good you think you are or how much you know, just remember that some of us know more about other things! To me being an expert in MG is rather akin to an expert in
tiddlywinks! This post is one of very few on the mg forum that will stand!

Jon - Your new garden sounds like it is going to be absolutely beautiful! I can't wait to see it when it is all done and you have some nice vines growing on the lovely supports that you have built! It will be a piece of heaven in Japan.

I, too, hope that this forum stays peaceful and that everyone feels welcome and enjoys every aspect of MG gardening. I encourage anyone to join us here!

I enjoy learning about JMGs and MGs too, but I mainly just love growing them whether I know everything or not. I don't think being an expert on MGs is a qualification to grow them. And knowing each vines ID isn't necessary to thoroughly enjoy them either. Many of mine have been No ID (NOID) vines. Not knowing the name didn't detract from the beautiful blooms at all! They are beautfiful no matter what name, cultivar, or species they are! "A rose by any other name would still be a rose ..." :-)

I hope that many friendships are made here on this forum. That many folks join in and try their hand at growing these amazing vines. And that we all share ... our experiences, our information, our bloom photos, and maybe do some fun trades! That's what this forum should be about ... enjoying MGs!

May peace be with this forum. :-)

the post is well said.

this forum used to have alot of people from all walks of knowledge on here.

it didnt matter if you were an expert or not it used to be for the love of morning glories.

now we have people making waves and people who want to come here and post and scared too.

people leaving and gone.
you mention something and wham there are people who tell you you did wrong or this law prohibits this or you this and that.
what ever happened to the point of just having the forum for mg and the love of it?
people post and get ignored and it used not to be that way.
theres very few who post on this forum anymore and its DYING.

only certain people post anymore and i know its hard for them to try to keep this forum going by themselves. shoot used to be where someone had a mg of walmart store bought quality and everyone get excited. now a days shoot you lucky if you get a well done.

JON you new space looks wonderful to do a garden. and dont worry about your first post it is the truth. and being an expert in mgs isnt nessasary to enjoy them. i am no expert and just love growing them.
