Lighting

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I try and change my bulbs every 18 months. Look at the end of each one........if you see anything the slightest bit darker on the bulb itself, then it is past time to change the bulbs.

OK, thanks Gail!

Sometimes I go two years (I have to be honest)

I have given up on giving anyone advice as there seem to be a zillion ways to accomplish the same task. Just for fun, I put these av leaves in my regular mix and domed them for a while and now they aren't domed. Making so many babies!!!

I aim to change mine every 6 months, but mine aren't the gro lights like Gail uses. They are Sylvania Sunlight bulbs, or something like that. Just plain bulbs, not made specifically for plants.

Moved my question for Gail to the other thread... ^_^

syrumami, I have lost all my variegation too. Very frustrating. I tried moving the plants back away from the light, been a few months now, but the variegation has not come back - has yours?

It did. Maybe you could try removing one of the bulbs in the lamp, if you have 2 in there?

If all else fails, try using a fertilizer with a lower amount of nitrogen for a little while.
