There is still a few days to get yourself added to the list . . . I'd like the cut-off date for sign-ups to be absolutely no later than Friday, October 2 (we have already doubled the number of participants of the Spring RR, so it will be some work getting organized, and adding someone on October 3 would be a strain). I hope that is acceptable for everyone! ^_^

The leaves I got in the last one are just now putting up babies...............and someone was nice enough to put in one of the Ever series from Optimara..........can't wait..........

I have to think about it...........I can't seem to catch up............planted too much and can't seem to figure this one out????????? I want to do it though.

Well.......if avPat can teach , grow plants and go boating, I can join in on the fun of the round robin!!!!
Just trying to figure out how to make space. The last time I decided to ship out african violets to newbies on the forum , it took me two days to pack them (LOL)

This way, Gail, you can already have a few items set aside for when the box gets there . . . all you have to do is open the box, remove what you'd like (and any icky stuff) and pack it back up again!

I think we are just doing one round robin which includes both plants and leaves..............right, Nichole? I am not up to packing two boxes , personally.. I got both plants and leaves in the last round robin and they were fantastic!! Even got a crown cutting of chimera.........sinninigia plants, etc.

I talked about the round robin with a few different members . . . I think it would be better at this point to have just one robin, that contains both plants and leaves.

Please tell me how this works. Since I am new I don't have much to add to the box I don't think but I do have a some babies I am about to separate from the one mom leaf I have and my neighbor might have something to add. I guess the box gets shipped from person to person and you add what you have and take out the same amount that you add? So if I add one thing I can take one thing right?

anna...........we intend for these boxes to be filled by everyone who can...............but if you can't , just put what you have..............it can even be something other than african violets, leaves.......could be a little cute houseplant, etc................everyone loves everything............

Also........send what I sent to you or part of it.............doesn't matter........it is fun to pass along..........

Lordy Lordy, it is stownes!!!! You haven't been around in many moons................how are things going and where have you been. Come on........fess up..........what forum have you been hanging out on?

Gail you twisted my finger. I'd love to participate and I think I will have things to add so I feel that I am not only taking but am giving too. Gail after you talked about you adding multiple trailers in one pot I separated the one you sent me into separate plants and they are growing so I have may have some of those to add too but they are still quite small with tiny root systems yet but by October I bet they will be good to go.

It is amazing what we can find to put in the box especially when we want a lot FROM the box!! Smiling!

Sure, I have quite a few extra plants I'd like to pass on.

hmm ... this sounds like fun but I guess I should think about it for awhile. Still haven't decided if I'm going to rig up a light stand inside the house! Might be nice though to be able to enjoy a couople of blooming Gessie's during January and February when it's too cold to play in the dirt outside.

What exactly happens in the round robbin- do we trade plants? I don't have all that many, but I have a few I can cut leaves from- does that count me in?? Thanks, Nichole!

Leaf cuttings are fine!

Here are the 'guidelines' used in the previous round robin . . .

It is important that each participant take out what they want to keep, toss what is iffy, add to the box and mail it ASAP. This is what will make it go smoothly.

Everyone pays the postage to get the box Priority with tracking information to the
next person on the list.

The box will be started with leaves, starters, and whatever else can be thrown
in. When you receive the box and there are dead leaves, etc., please throw them
out and replace what you can. Please keep the names and address list with the
box for the next person. You are welcome to place anything in the box, just
remember you need to replace what you take. You are also welcome to throw in
extras. But please don't throw in your old leaves, make sure what you are
sending is viable plant material for propagation.

You are not obligated to take anything you don't want, so if something doesn't
suit your fancy, send it out to the next recipient on the list.

Once you have made your selection, post to the group what you have taken and
when you sent the box out to the next recipient. Including a tracking number is
helpful.

DO NOT POST TO THE GROUP WHAT IS IN THE BOX, only what you kept.

It's good to be back!! We have been very busy being grandparents and loving it. Then found out hubby had cancer. He has had surgery and is now undergoing radiation, and it looks like everything is finally going well.

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's illness, stownes. My prayers will be with you and your family.(((((Hugs))))))
