Very nice night picture. Half done, How marvelous.
Way to go, Gordon.
Roof photos today... or .......... Brugs Galore
A labor of love. Thanks for sharing, Gordon.
man, you are cooking! good job so far!
Looking good, Gordon.
Won't be long before it is
finished.
Charleen
Well the floor is in... now to load the bigger ones on through the remaining walls... then put the in place... and build a door.. some are blooming away now.. looking to make a final impression...in order to get a favored spot inside...
It's going to be 72 today... seems silly to be building this cool room.. as it is obviously going to be summer any day now...
I have seen Super Nova sold as Kongmansia, too. I guess it is a reference to King Kong as it has such a large flower. Logee's says the flower can be 10" wide and 18" long!
Gordon, your photos show a great love for plant material and al the care you give them. Looking very good for the winter.

Aren't Super Nova and Kongmansia are different cultivars? I think that Kongmansia is larger than Super Nova when it flowers. I have a Super Nova and it has big flowers but not as big as Kongmansia, I think. I just wish someone would cross Super Nova with a strong yellow or orange.
Is that a Mockingbird, Gordon?
Very great pictures Gordon. As always,
Brugs are beautiful. Love your little
Balloon lights. Makes the plants happy,
doesn't it. Party plants.
Charleen
I looked at a couple of sites that said Super Nova and Kongmansia were the same cultivar. Am I wrong?
I don't know, that's why I asked. It's can get confusing with so many names floating around. Perhaps one of our resident expert growers will let us know.
I am not an expert, but Super Nova & Kongmansia are not the same. Candida Double White is the pod parent and Super Nova is the pollen parent for Kongmansia registered by Eddiewayne in 07. I cannot remember when (it is an oldie but goodie)Super Nova was registered by Anne Kirchner-Abel.
Maybe someone that can remember more about Super Nova will chime in.
Have a great day!
Janice
Thanks, I thought I had read that Super Nova was a parent of Kongmansia.
Well, thanks a lot for the info. Someone is mixed up out there; I just can't remember what site it was. Which one of those 2 is the most prolific bloomer?
I have not had the pleasure of growing Kongmasia(yet, but I am going to get one), but I can tell you that Super Nova is a great bloomer.
Have a great day
Janice
I only have the Super Nova. It's a prolific bloomer.
thank you both.
If anyone has extra cuttings, please let us know?
I would love a cutting of a Super Nova, and would even play some Aldo for it to grow by! ( my plants like our music)
Really have gotten into these brug plants here lately..
well..this is Tatiana.. growing at 12'and just flowering.. she was planted in an area that was bing blocked by the cool room so I had to dig her up.. dispite the flowers just starting.. move her into thecool room...through the open wall.. before closing it up ..I got to experience the pain of moving and cutting them for the winter I'd been hearing..posted.. I figured out I'd grow her sideways.. but she got snapped to 8'.. while I was trying to get her new planter filled with soil to support her
Look at those tendrils, how pretty.
It is going to be a headache to move all those plants.
Think of all the lives you are saving.

Does it color up much Gordon?
yes.. this was a new flower.. in the posts of this thread there was another of her in a more mature form... posted on Sept 28th.. this was the second flower.. about three weeks after the first one ever for it.. back on the 28th.. and this like I said.. on about a 12 ft tall plant.. I guess it wanted to get above the fray of the understory.. before it's concentration on the flowering part of life... although it colors up.. I'd love to have a striped bloom..
rain all night... so glueing up the remaining panels for the cool room ..will have to awaite them drying out .. guess I can get them all precut.. and be ready.. I had a fw small drips inside... ..amazing sinc I haven't gone over the seems to seal them.. and the brugs would surely love a bit of moisture in the air.. during their long sleep.. they will have to be happy with what I provide.. but it was a good test for the structure got up to 20 mph winds... and the walls wern't tied together.. with the roof.. and there were large open areas where the doors will go.. [ going to have a 40" wide door.. x 7 ' tall... maybe an 8' tall door......so it's a big opening... and it did just fine...
Excellent that the shelter withstood a storm even though it was half done.
I'm still waiting for my last one to bloom out. It has a lot of big buds, some have begun to drop their skirt but they seem stuck in time because it has been so cool and rainy. This one is Tropical Sunset.
Good job Gordon. I have really enjoyed watching you put this together. And of course looking at all of your beautiful flowers.
Janice
Gordon, you have done an excellent job! Now all your babies will be nice and comfy this winter!
Please post a link here when you start that new contest!
Very good, Gordon. Now are the babies are
going to be safe from all the elements of nature.
Charleen
Excellent! Love for your babies. :)
Congrats, it looks good and sturdy and most of all warm. ;D
Gordon,
Congratulations on completing this year's cool room model. I haven't had much time to post much, but I do take a quick look now and then. Looking good!
Veronica
