Fortunately, my son grows the 'real plants' today!
I got another visit from a Dectective today, I bought some JATROPHA MULTIFIDA here on the market place awhile back and one of my busy body neighbors sent an anonymous letter to the police department telling them that I am cultivating marijuana amoung the flowers in my back yard. The trees are in pots on my work table. I gave him the 10 cent garden tour, and invited him back to see the daylilys next July. I also dug a few plants for his wives garden. He looked at the JATROPHA MULTIFIDA and agreed that it was probably what they were looking at, or the 6ft tomatoe plants. I think it's the newest neighbors since we have a 6 foot hig privacy fence and they would only be able to see it from their back porch or upstairs windows. The neighbor on the other side would not be able to see it, and there is no one behind us. I didn't think it was so funny this time. I think I may have to have a chat with the neighbor.
Fortunately my wife and I are active in the community, and are well known. I owned a small business, and also know about 75% of the Police here so they really haven't taken the reports seriously. I could see where if that was not the case I could wake up one night with them kicking the doors in.

I think you are right Gail they must not have very exciting lives if they have to peer over a fence and think fanciful thoughts like these.
As long as someone is not bothering or hurting someone else or me, I don't care what they do.......none of my business!

Me too!! However there have been a few legit drug busts in my neighborhood lately.I just thought they had a big family or lots of friends LOL.

Drugs are everywhere in every little town across America. Right here in Taft we even have drug gangs problems. I let the authorities worry about who it is.......I value my life too much to ever interfere.
Those neighbors obviously don't know much about 'real' drugs or they would mind their own business if they like being alive.
I would agree with your last statement Gail. It costs too much to snitch. I don't know if you've heard about the infamous "Stop Snitchin" homemade video in Baltimore. This drug gang killed an entire family in a fire caused by a Molotov cocktail because the mom had "snitched" to police. After the murders, they made this ridiculous video. A little over 1 year later, the "star" of the video and cameraman were both arrested. Idiots.
Well I had a chat with the neighbor, and it was her exboyfriend. He was living there, and had the bad habit of getting drunk and slapping her around. Evidently the neighbor on the other side called the Police one night and they came and took him away. She told me that he was sure I was growing pot and that he was going to come over and steal it. He thought we called on him (and we would have if we would have heard it) and thought he'd get even since she has a restraining order against him now and he wouldn't dare come near here. He told me that she didn't think it was pot because I wouldn't have it out in the open, and it would be much taller. So that mystery is solved. I couldn't imagine why they would be doing that since we pretty much keep to ourselves unless we see someone needs help of some kind, and I have talked to her a regular basis. SHe said she knew it was the lady on the other side because she came over to see if she was ok, and told her that she had called. Of course no one told the exboyfriend, and that's fine.
What a mess!! I think it's usually people who can't run there own lives who suspect the worse of everyone else!!I know my neighbors casually,but I wouldn't dream of checking out there yards and what hours there lights are on and off,unless it's someone who lives alone and might need help.
