To sow outdoors or not that is the question....

Any plant that will grow well outside I would rather start it there. I live in NC Zone 7a.

How are these seeds on sowing outdoors after last frost:

Coleus
Gaillardia
Hollyhock
Gazania
Helenium
Calendula
Marigold
Poppy
Rudbeckia
Nastursiam
Snapdragon
Zinnia
Sweet William

Should some seeds be planted outdoors this fall like poppy? I am new to all this.

I don't think coleus would be successful (better started indoors in late spring. The others are seeds that I winter sow so they should be ok. I would see the poppies now, in the fall, but the rest in early spring.

The seed packages would have the best advice as to when & how to sow.
